re: my studio and this page

Driven by our evolving relationship with time and space, I make performative, public drawings at the scale of architecture that accumulate humble marks, rendering monuments to moments as they pass. I rely on duration and simple limitations or systems to catalyze the drawing act and inform the mark-making. The drawings are fluidly composed in the present directly on urban surfaces, walls, or panels to evoke swarms, fields, or topographies as metaphors for the structure of time. Each gestural mark records a moment, visually indexing the tics of a clock and the movement of a body through shared space.

Currently, I am a resident artist at STUDIOS INC, and all the images on this page emanate from my studio here in the East Crossroads. My plan is to keep this page updated with the work that is happening from commissions to new explorations and other process-related stuff. Social media can feel a bit like a highlight reel rather than a glimpse into a working artist studio, my hope is that this page can bridge that gap and provide greater insight into the idiosyncracies of my practice and process. My current plan is to post a mix of text-based, video, and image based posts that tell a deeper story of the work they highlight. I’ll also share any work that is available to collect directly from the studio (via this website). I’ll do my best to date and title each new entry with the newest stuff continually added to the bottom of this page. Feel free to use the contact link to hit me up with questions or inquiries regarding commissions. If you are reading this, then I’d like to thank you in advance for your interest and for taking the time to take a look.

Best,
Kevin
